Greenbelt Festival 2008
"Rising Sun"
What? Greenbelt is a Christian music and arts festival - established in 1973 and first held in 1974, Greenbelt festival is in its 34th year, attracting around 19,000 festivalgoers. It offers a wide ranging mix of music, the arts, opportunities for social action, seminars, worship times, wonderful youthwork and the chance to meet likeminded people and explore new ways of being church and living out our faith. The open-air communion on Sunday morning is a truly awesome event! Where? Greenbelt takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire. Festival-goers camp on site or book accommodation in the area. For travel advice / information, visit www.greenbelt.org Questions? Please ask Rhys or Caroline who will be happy to help.
When? Friday 22nd August to Monday 25th August. Site is normally accessible from 10:00am on the Friday. The Festival kicks off at around 5:00pm. Who? Anyone. Singles, couples, families, young or old, disabled, Christian or not sure. There's something for everyone, including provision for those with young families and those needing disabled access. Groups can camp together in one of the many camping areas on site. Anyone camping with JCFL must be over 18!
Why? Because it's an unforgettable experience that will leave you invigorated, empowered and impassioned about your faith and the world. And it's also great fun. Where else would you find African drumming, Fransiscan monks, living sculptures, rock music, the finest (and most ethical) cuisine and giant bouncy castles all in the same place? How much? Adult ticket price (booking up to July 31st) is £80 (includes camping, car parking and access to all events for the entire weekend.) Concessions £53 (with proof of entitlement). For group, family and child prices, please ask. Though tickets can be bought on the gate, we need to know numbers by the April prayer at the latest.
